It’s not fun being Jessica Simpson these days. Losing Tony Romo to a better singer? Check. Gaining weight and heading towards a future appearance on Celebrity Fit Club? Check. Being dropped by your record label? Check.
Rumours have been circulating for some time that Joe Galante, the head of Sony BMG Nashville, was getting sick and tired of Jessica Simpson’s shit. From forgetting lyrics to crying on stage, the 28 year old buxom blonde was becoming a real pain.
And now it’s official: Simpson has been dropped by Sony Nashville. Her profile is nowhere to be found on the Sony Music Nashville and Columbia Nashville websites and Jessica’s reps are out issuing spin, saying “Jessica is and has always been an Epic artist. She was on loan to Sony Nashville for her country album. She continues to be on Epic’s label.”
On loan? If Simpson is a piece of property, her value is dropping faster than a subprime housing development. Which is really sad given how hot she was and how hot she could be once again if she got her mind right.
